Why we loved Prambanan!

Posted on

During our first day in Indonesia we had the fortune to visit one of their more famous temples “Prambanan”, this hindu temple was built in the year 850 AD, it’s the largest hindu temple in Indonesia and to be honest it was one of the most beautiful and lovely experiences in out trip.

As we arrived to the temple we had the fortune to meet many locals; women, men and children all with the same purpose as us, to visit the temple and learn something new from it. But what we did not know was that most Indonesian people never meet foreigners and are always only in between locals, which is why we were quite surprised when hundreds (no exaggeration here) of persons asked to take pictures and selfies with us! We were completely surprised and astonished!

The temple was indeed beautiful, all made of stone and surrounded with green trees and jungle around it! It was an incredible experience to be able to enter the temples and see people worshiping inside them! We loved how different the experience from the Prambanan temple was, we loved meeting so many new people and taking selfies with all of them! This place is definitely recommended for anyone in the Yogyakarta part of Indonesia.
